Actually, I've been uncharacteristically patient though this will I or won't I end up with a job at the end of all this fiasco.
As of today, the woman that stood to inherit my boss as her new boss, started a new position in another department. Now the door is open "a crack" and I can almost see onto the other side. I just have to make it through five days of an internal posting for the position (not sure when that is due to begin) and after that, I'll finally know one way or another.
